Transforming Learning. Shifting Narratives. Expanding What’s Possible.

We partner with educational leaders to build adaptive, inclusive systems that actualize the potential of every student.

Our Vision

We imagine a world where every student is:

  • seen for who they are

  • supported in building their brilliance

  • and empowered through rich and engaging learning journeys.

At Conscious Ed, we believe that education should open doors, expand possibilities, and empower every student to thrive—especially those navigating poverty and systemic barriers.

A truly high-quality education does more than deliver knowledge; it engages, empowers, and affirms. It

  • Engages students in rigorous, cognitively rich learning experiences that build essential knowledge and competencies.
  • Centers, empowers, and supports students as diverse learners with unique strengths and aspirations.
  • Affirms and nurtures each student’s vision for their future.
  • Cultivates inclusive, high-expectation environments where relationships, belonging, and human flourishing thrive.

Yet, too many students experience learning environments that do not fully engage their potential or reflect their lived experiences. We see an opportunity to co-create more conscious, responsive school systems—places where every student experiences belonging, builds the skills to think critically and creatively, and develops the confidence to shape their future.

That’s why we partner with school, district, and state leaders to develop the adaptive leadership capacity needed to transform student experiences. Because when we shift the way we see ourselves, our students, and our systems, we unlock a future of expanding possibilities.

What We Do

We partner with school, district, and state education leaders—as well as ecosystem partners—to build

the foundation for success and the framework for what’s possible.

Our work is anchored in two interdependent pillars:

Foundations for Academic Excellence

We ensure the critical conditions for student learning aren’t just in place but fully embedded in daily practice. These include:

  • High expectations & rigorous learning for every student
  • High-quality, inclusive curriculum and learning experiences
  • Diversified assessments that inform instruction & drive student growth
  • Strategic staffing & embedded professional learning (e.g., coaching, teaming, peer learning, multi-classroom leadership)

We don’t just help systems install best practices—we help them integrate, scale, and sustain them.

Supports for Conscious Adaptive Leadership

True systems change starts with the people doing the work. We build the internal capacity of educators and leaders to:

  • Lead with presence, intention, agility
  • Strengthen reflection and adaptive leadership
  • Empower leaders to shift personal and collective narratives, affirming every student, cultivating their agency, and expanding opportunities for all.

A few of our partners

CURATE Curriculum Ratings by Teachers

In partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Rennie Center for Education Research & Policy, Conscious Ed co-designed and co-convened a multi-year initiative to provide teacher-vetted guidance on curriculum quality for school and district decision-makers across the Commonwealth.

Through CURATE, we facilitated nearly 70 educator panels to conduct systematic reviews of ELA, Math, STE, Digital Literacy, and Computer Science curricular materials, evaluating their alignment to Massachusetts standards and expectations for inclusive, culturally and linguistically sustaining practices.

The result? Actionable, user-friendly reports that have guided over 400 districts in selecting high-quality instructional materials—ensuring nearly 1 million students across the state have greater access to rigorous, representative learning experiences.

Beyond district-level change, this work has contributed to shaping state-level instructional policy and informing grantmaking strategies that support equitable access to high-quality curriculum. It has also aligned with broader efforts to ensure all Massachusetts students have access to inclusive, standards-aligned materials.

By elevating teacher voice and embedding equity into curriculum decision-making, the project has influenced local practice and contributed to emerging conversations about the role of curriculum in advancing educational equity—conversations that are increasingly reflected in the priorities of national publishers.

Civics Curriculum Teacher Advisory

In partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and Rennie Center for Research in Education and Policy, we convened a teacher advisory panel to review Grade 8 civics curricular materials and evaluate their alignment to Massachusetts content and practice standards, cultural responsiveness, and usability.

Fundamentals for Emerging Leaders

In partnership with Elisa MacDonald and Newton Public Schools, we supported the development of teacher leaders through a district initiative to scale high function, high impact teacher-led vertical teams in 4 middle schools serving 2,832 students.

Systems of Student Support Academy (S3 Academy)

In partnership with Rennie Center for Education Research and Policy, Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, & Boston College Center for Optimized Student Support, we provided technical assistance coaching to a network of Massachusetts district leadership teams to support them in building integrated systems of support in Agawam Public Schools, Belchertown Public Schools, Fitchburg Public Schools, Holyoke Public Schools, Hudson Public Schools, Nashoba Public Schools, and Wachusett Public Schools.
